New VA Mental Health Study

What We Are Doing To Help Our Veterans...

New studies are being done on a regular basis, due to thehigh numbers of brain injuries caused by the weapons and bombs being that are being used against our military soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.

The work that Nonprofits are doing to assist the VA is essential, and very much needed.  When we get the news that a member of our military was killed in action, and is only 22 years old it really hits home.  Only twenty two short years to be here on earth.  Now gone but always remembered for being there, to fight for our beliefs and freedom, and giving his or her life for you and I.

Don’t take it for granted that you can rely on being free. We must all remember that they are there, and they all need to know how much you appreciate their sacrifice.  Not just their individual sacrifice, but alsothe sacrifice made by their families and loved ones, and their brothers-in-arms who have gone before them.

We must not forget about those who have been injured in this fight and how their lives can be totally changed as they come home with problems they did not have before they left to make that sacrifice.

Unfortunately there are more problems related to mental health then we ever experience before.  Below is an excerpt from a recent study that refelcts this growing problem.  It shows how this problem is real and growing:
"A new study analyzing data from the Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) reveals the percentage of veterans with mental health problems increased dramatically. The new study published in the July 2009 edition of, "American Journal of Public Health," reveals that about 37 percent of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan have mental health problems, a nearly 50 percent increase from the last time the percentage was calculated several years ago.  More than 289,000 veterans of the two wars sought treatment during the six-year period studied.  An abstract of the study, 'Trends and Risk Factors for Mental Health Diagnoses Among Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Using Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care, 2002-2008,' is available on the American Journal of Public Health website."

Take care and thank those who wear the uniform of our Great County, and help support those who dedicate their lives to making it better for others.

News From Our Web Site

A history of the USEF, and our mission

The United States Entertainment Force

is a Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization created to serve the men and women of our Armed Forces, regardless of where in the world they might be deployed.

We direct our resources to those of our Military who have given so much in the name of freedom, and service to our country.  The Fallen Soldier and their families are the ones The Force is dedicated to serving.  The Force will be with them to support them, to acknowledge them, and to thank them.

The need of the Fallen Soldier is great, from the basics of monetary and housing issues for their family to them needing to know there are those who choose to stand beside them in this trying time and offer support.

The Force will be there to surround them with love, hope, and devotion and offer a helping hand to these heroes as they recuperate from some of the most severe medical injuries imaginable, and the trauma of warfare.

The plight of the wounded soldier is great and affects many.  We are the Force that helps the pain of suffering to be diminished.  Unfortunately, the sometimes dramatic injuries our soldiers experience take time to heal, which means a period that can be months or longer at our Military Hospitals.

The U.S.E.F. will be there with their families to assure the needed financial assistance is available to help pay the expenses in order that the loved ones can participate in the healing, allowing the soldier to become whole and return home.

The U.S.E.F. is a coalition of Entertainers, in all fields of entertainment, coming together in a very special union in order to accomplish our goals of compassionate caring, support, and providing a helping hand.

By forming this very special alliance with publicists, managers, agents, and the press we are able to pool all the talents of this select group and affect positive change in the lives of so many.

The United States Entertainment Force

maintains a high profile that allows us the exposure necessary to bring our mission to the public so they may know that the U.S.E.F. is making a positive difference in touching the hearts and lives of the Fallen Soldier and their families.

In realtiy, we can all take part in this incredibly positive Force, and the ongoing mission of the U.S.E.F.   We bring back the values of trust, honesty, integrity, respect, and pride that made the Country so great.   Those attributes will be and are the driving force behind the U.S.E.F.

THE UNITED STATES ENTERTAINMENT FORCE was created in 1995 as a collaboration between Jerry Payne and Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter for the purpose of supporting the men and women of our Armed Forces.

Through out the years, Mr. Baxter has assumed additional responsibilities in Washington DC, and has had to redirect his efforts.  Jerry Payne, co-Founder, continues to dedicate himself and his organization’s resources to this very important mission.   Jerry has a long and impressive resume that began with service to his country as a US Army Officer during the Vietnam conflict, and then he dedicated many years as a Producer of USO Entertainment,  he was President of Top Gun Entertainment,  as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the USO.  Due to his efforts over and above the call of duty, Jerry was singled out and awarded the The United States Veteran of The Year Award by President Clinton.  He has proven his sincere dedication to the morale and welfare of our members of the Armed Forces.  He has always been able to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge as it pertains to the inner workings and politics of the Armed Services. Throughout the years Jerry has shown incredible integrity, honesty, sincerity, and dedication to the completion of the mission. His efforts to date have been recognized and acknowledged by many high ranking government and military officials leading him all the way to the White House.  It is with these credentials and past accomplishments that Jerry Payne continues to lead this very prestigious organization.
